About Alison

I started babysitting when I was 14 to supplement my part-time job as an after-school caregiver/tutor at my K-12 school. When my niece was born, I became her part-time nanny and have had the privilege of caring for her on a regular basis until she was nine--she's 17 now, and we're still extremely close. I lived in NYC for the past 6 years and worked as a full-time aide to a young man with nonverbal autism. I was responsible for helping him along his daily routine, planning his outings and his education and structuring his days so they were productive without being overwhelming. I learned so much helping him navigate his struggles while also celebrating his many successes. I'm still very close to his entire family and the autism community is one I hold very close to my heart. In addition to my special needs experience, I am quite comfortable with children of all ages.
