We have had the privilege of having Alyse with our family for two and a half years. The mutual respect, love and care feels like that once in a lifetime kind. She’s moving on to a new chapter in Colorado and, while a big loss for our family, we could not be happier for her. If you are fortunate enough to have her join you, you will not look back! We’ve worked hard to be generous and build mutual trust and respect, and she gives it back in spades. Always the class act, she gave us two and a half months notice to find her replacement. She was as excellent with our son as a newborn as she is with him as a toddler. Those early days are tough with a first, as you are finding yourself at the same time and learning about your baby. She was always thoughtful, deferential, while constantly finding ways to help and not waiting to be asked. In addition to helping care for the baby, she supported my needs as a new mother and provided meaningful household support - food prep, laundry, tidying. When we left the city she got a car and has taken him to all sorts of classes - swimming, little gym, french, nature class, the list goes on. She is so active and engaged - she doesn’t watch any TV with him, she prefers to play (!) She is mindful of supporting all milestones, while supporting an environment that is kind, curious and without pressure. There have been many times when I have overheard them racing and laughing and just genuinely having fun together. Is that not the best? Our son feels completely secure and comfortable with her. With us, she has helped him through transitions like moving to a new house and starting school. She has traveled with our family multiple times, and we have even left Jasper with her at our home for a couple of nights when we traveled. As two working parents, she has always been generous in her flexibility if something comes up, someone is traveling or we need to get an earlier train. We feel like a team. With us, she has raised our son with utmost care and love. She has built relationships in the community with ease, which has been great for our son and his friendships.
