About Amelia

My career in childcare began at 15 years old, volunteering at a daycare center. Eventually, I was hired, and became a third Toddler classroom teacher when I turned 18. I learned so much about teaching and creating curriculum amongst other things, I loved to see the kids reach important milestones and grow into who they are. Dec. 2018 I decided to leave SELC to explore nannying. I found a wonderful family and was hired to be their nanny! I was employed for 4. 5 years with 3 awesome kids, their ages ranging between 1yr-11yr at the start of my employment. Some of my beliefs consist of having patience always, an easy-going and flexible attitude while also creating a safe, nurturing and trusting environment. Creatively finding indoor/outdoor activities and through time, understanding a child's unique character and personality. Personally, I believe commitment is very important when caring for children and working with families.
