I have been providing care for children for the past 18 years. I first started working as a private nanny in 1993. I worked for that family for 5 years until I was let go due to a job transfer for the father. I was then introduced to a family through the last family I worked for and instantly became a nanny for them. I worked with that family for the next several years. I started with a newborn who was a few weeks old. After two and a half years, the mother of the house and myself had both had babies within 6 weeks of each other. I spent a few weeks on maternity leave (paid) and returned to work to now watch a 3-year-old, and 8 & 12-week-old babies. It was basically like being with twins. I loved it! I had so much fun with the children, teaching them new things, playing outside, going on outings and simply just spending quality time with all the children. I worked with them until I became pregnant with my second child. Unfortunately at this time the family decided to end my employment. I was heartbroken. After taking some time off, I decided to go on with opening my home to children. I love it, and I am still doing it. I only have two children two days a week right now that would stop in the summer (mom is a teacher). Being with children is very rewarding to me and I sincerely love it.
