I have cared for Alzheimer and dementia patients for 33 years. I began taking care of my Dad with early onset Alzheimer . It is a hard job but very rewarding. I have only taken care of three other patients since them. One was very forgetful, didn't want to bath and wouldn't leave the house. Well, that all changed when I started working with her. She was still forgetful but everything else changed for the better. She passed in 2011. I had my next lady that was so easy in the beginning. Now she needs a patient lift out of bed and chairs. I do this by myself 40 hrs. a week. . I am very professional. I cook and do light cleaning. I do my clients laundry.

We hired Anne to assist with the care of our mother. She helped us for about six months. Anne was excellent on several fronts. She assisted her in bathing and personal care. She related any concerns on her health status almost daily. When our mother was in the hospital she would use her time to visit and provide both conversation and an advocate for her care. She is an excellent conversationalist and provided our mother with mental stimulation not just physical care. Our mother always looked forward to Anne's visits. Anne was also able to firmly, yet compassionately, push our mother to continue her exercises. Our mother thrived for several months with Anne's involvement. Our mother was much better off with Anne there. Compatibility with the extended family is important and Anne kept us informed and was not bashful in her frank feedback to us, always with our mother's well being being forefront.
