About April

Starting in 2002 I worked for four years as a pre-school teacher, four years as a full-time special education assistant for Frederick County Public Schools (grades pre-K to 5) and about six years as a substitute teacher for FCPS. I have also tutored students grades K through 9 and, briefly, did SAT prep. I especially enjoyed being a nature teacher at summer camps. As a Mom and a teacher I love helping kids understand new things, exposing them to new experiences, and watching them blossom. In case it might be helpful I grew up in Europe and am fluent in German and French (a little rusty but would be fluent again with use). I also have working knowledge (for beginning level tutoring) of Spanish and Italian.
