My name is Abby and I recently (May 2015) got my bachelors degree in Social Work from Salem State. During my years at Salem State, I interned as a social worker for Early Intervention working with kids from new born to 3 years who had developmental delays. A lot of the work included, prepping meals, play time, reading, getting them off and on the bus, working close with their guardians, and a lot of therapeutic play was incorporated during my visits with the child and parents. I have also two teenage siblings who I have always Babysat and been like a mother figure. I have advocated for them, transported them to where they needed to be and so forth. I have also babysat for kids ages 2-8 not including my siblings. As of now I work as an accommodation specialist for Boston University. My expertise is working with kids and adults who have a disability. As someone who has a disability, I have learned many skills that I feel are important in living a successful and fulfilling life.
