I like caring for seniors because from personal experience I know how much our seniors enrich our lives. I love being able to aid the seniors that I care for in any way, shape, or form possible that can enrich their lives in return. Hearing them share stories from their lives has been very inspiring to me, and even when they are nonverbal, I've found that just sitting in each others presence can be comforting. I've always had a passion for taking care of others, and if anyone deserves to be taken care of with love and compassion it's our seniors. I started caring for seniors early summer 2023. I did in home care for a lovely woman that had been diagnosed with dementia. I worked mornings getting her out of bed, taking her to the restroom, dressing for the day, preparing breakfast, giving morning medications, socializing and keeping her engaged, and redirecting when needed. I also worked overnights, prepared dinner, gave evening medication, prepared for bed, and kept watch overnight.
