This is the background check we require for all caregivers.
Experience: 8 yrs
My name is Brian and I am a seasoned caregiver from Lombard. For the past 1 year & 3 months, I cared for Silvio, an 86-year-old wheel-chair bound senior with many health issues. I took care of grocery shopping, cooking, medication management, showering, and changing colostomy bag. I worked 50 hours a week, and never missed a day. Prior to that, I cared for Louis in a split-shift 7 days a week until his death. For 5 years, I took care of my dad with Alzheimer's. I dressed him, toileted him, handled bed to wheelchair transfers, prepared meals, fed him, and oversaw medication usage. I also met regularly with the team at Hospice, who marveled at how well dad was doing. Even though he wasn't able to speak much, his eyes and smile said it all. He was on hospice longer than most because of the TLC he received. I also completed senior training through Home Instead and cared for clients through them for 7 months. I'm looking for full-time, but will consider part-time senior position.

I have know Brian for 8 years. My name is Amber P and I am a hospice music therapist and had the honor of caring for Brian's father under our care (family has given me permission to share this). Brian's father was at a facility and Brian then brought his father home to become his full time caregiver. It is very rare that we see someone so incredible attentive, loving and patient but that is exactly what we saw in Brian. He was on top of everything, asked all the right questions and provided the dignity that everyone deserves. His father was always immaculately taken care of and he took so much time to make sure that his father had everything that he needed. His dad had dementia and was unable to make his needs known or do any activities of daily living on his own so Brian took on all of this with ease and never a complaint. His dad thrived at home for 4 years after coming onto hospice care which is rarely seen and I as well as the entire hospice team credited this to Brian and his care
