About Brooke

Hello, I'm Brooke! I was a preschool teacher for 5 years, a nanny for 2 years, and I'm in my second year at an after school program in north Seattle. Sadly the commute is too long so I'm looking for something closer to West Seattle. Covid precaution is strongly preferred, such as masking in crowded places, testing, and isolating when sick. I'm a ceramicist and staff member at Rain City Clay. I love being outside and making art in many forms! I work with a positive discipline philosophy and aim to be kind yet firm. My specialties are encouraging pro-social behavior, creating routines, and supporting children through their daily challenges by developing coping strategies together. I encourage play, movement, curiosity, and being outdoors in all weather! I believe children learn best when adults communicate clear expectations and enforce age-appropriate boundaries. I'm an anti-racist, anti-bias educator and I'm looking for a family who shares those values.
