About Carmen

Hello! As the eldest sibling in a large family, I have enjoyed working with children since I was a child myself. For the last 11 years I have been working in education. For eight years I educated k- 5th grade special education, and this past year I worked with Pre-K (4-year-olds). During these years of service, I fostered a love for learning, reading and creativity. In addition to more traditional academics, I aided in diaper changes, toilet training, feeding, and language/ communication acquisition. I recently obtained a CPR certification and have a BA in English and Cultural Studies from the University of the Incarnate Word. I have reliable transportation. In addition to caring for the children and infants of friends and family, I have nannied part-time for a non-verbal adolescent girl for over 3 years, as well as a 6th month old baby boy I understand what a monumental task it is to care for a little one.
