About Catherine

I have 32 years of teaching experience in a variety of grades and content areas. My focus in Language Arts/English (Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking) and am very knowledgeable with state standards. These same standards can be taught and practiced in Social Studies/History. Most of my career was spent in middle school, but I have also tutored high school students, as well. I have tutored students for specific skills and/or worked on assignments from school. With parental permission, I am very comfortable communicating with classroom teachers, as well. I love getting students excited about reading and finding novels of high interest to their individual interests/levels; and, I often integrate digital media and text - fiction and non fiction. I understand learning is most successful when teachers and students have a strong rapport. I will work hard to create that with your child.
