About Christy

Experience: 10 yrs

I attended the English Nanny and Governess School in Chagrin Falls, Ohio 20 years ago to become a certified professional nanny. Since then I have enjoyed caring for families with children of various ages. The longest time I have spent with one family has been seven years. While nannying I have planned age appropriate activities for the children. I have driven the children to and from school and activities. I have also done laundry, light housework, household management and prepared meals for the children. I have worked with children to prepare them as they become older, teaching them how to do things for themselves and become more independent and responsible. I have experience with home schooling two of the children I nannied for for one school year. I love caring for children and being a good role model for them and watching them grow up and experience new things in life.

Christy came to live with us in May of 2011 to be the nanny to our two little girls. We consider ourselves very fortunate to have found her and welcome her into our home. In the more than 4 years since she s been with us, she has always demonstrated professionalism in going about her day-to-day responsibilities and tremendous love and care towards them. She takes great pride in her work and role. First and foremost about Christy, we never worried about our girls when they were with her. Christy s commitment to safety and the overall well-being of our children was always paramount with Christy and not once was this commitment to them ever comprised since her arrival. To this day we continue to get feedback from friends and casual observers about commitment to them safety, along with the safety of other children. If safety was the first attribute that jumps out about her reliability must be the second. We count on her for everything from staying on top of the girls homework and activities to doing food shopping and laundry. She delivers time after time after time. She is very adept when it comes to creating schedules and routines, sticking to them without fail and getting the kids to respond. She goes about her responsibilities like clockwork which was a welcomed addition to a family like ours that is always on the go. She is extremely punctual and was not late ever! In four years she was not late one day or for one obligation. She has been critical is teaching our kids manners and appropriate behavior. She limited the TV time and encourages age appropriate play time and activities. As the girls developed she modified their activities and developmental toys. She has been essential in developing their independence and self-care habits, she is also great at teaching them household responsibilities including cleaning up toys or dishes (again always based on age appropriate actions). She proactively organized play dates for girls, after school or on days off. She eagerly planned different outings from the beach to indoor bounce playhouses to library to playground. When other commitments permitted, she also volunteered at their preschool for lunch support or to read to the classes. She developed a rapport with my kids as well as other friends and chaperoned many play dates at our home. All of the parents and caregivers trusted her and were complimentary about the way she treated and respected their children as well. In addition to the primary care responsibilities for the girls, her helped with many household tasks including cooking, preparing the kids lunches and snacks, laundry, food shopping, club or shopping, and dry cleaning. She was willing to help out wherever needed to support the needs of our family. She also helped manage and supervise when there were workmen or others in our home. She was also very open to adjusting her style with the care of the kids if we, as the parents, asked for a modification or change. She is very willing to learn different techniques for communicating and supporting the children as well. With clear direction and guidance, she adapted her approach quickly. She very much values open and regular communication between her and the parents to confirm you are all working as a team to care for your children. Ending our relationship with Christy was not an easy decision. We have always been a dual-income family with both my wife and I holding demanding corporate jobs requiring significant travel. Having a reliable live-in nanny such as Christy allowed us to prolong our chaotic dual-career situation to this point. Earlier this year, I learned that my job was being eliminated which forced her and I to take a hard look at our careers and what s best for our family at this point and going forward. We decided that it was not in the best interest of our family for me to pursue another demanding corporate position but rather explore options that will allow me to put kids and her ahead of any job or career. With them now 7 years and 5 years, respectively, and a change in my career, our needs as a family with respect to childcare have changed dramatically from when we hired Christy back in early 2011. Christy`s desire is to be a live-in nanny. She is a special nanny and deserves consideration for the best opportunities. Any family seeking a live-in nanny will be fortunate to find her. They ll know right out of the gate that they have found someone terrific but over time they ll realize they have someone very special helping out with their children. She is as good as she sounds!
