I'd describe my personality as outgoing, reliable, and compassionate. I like working with kids because it allows me to help practice patience, kindness, and embrace the way children view the world. I'm looking for a job that allows me to work closely with children and pets, while providing outstanding care. I started working with kids when I was in middle school as a date night babysitter. My grandparents fostered young children, and I learned a great deal being around children ages infants and up. In college, I worked with teens with mental health challenges in both an inpatient and outpatient setting to help them develop healthy emotion regulation and distress tolerance skills. In my spare time, I like to read, do yoga, and spend time with my pet cats. I like to travel when time permits. One thing you should know about me is I'm hardworking and honest. My skills include patience, utilizing teachable moments, and have worked with school aged children in a child care setting.

We met with Courtney in July so she could meet our children and so we could chat about the job and our needs. Courtney indicated she was interested and provided clearances. Up until late-August, she indicated continued interest, despite not replying to any emails sent with additional, helpful, information about our children's schedules and personalities. An hour before she was supposed to show up on the first day, she canceled due to an emergency. We understood and checked in during the next week to see how she was. The second time she was scheduled to show up, she canceled about an hour beforehand. Then, she was unresponsive to texts and emails after that, until a Nanny Agreement was sent for her to sign. She indicated displeasure with one aspect of the agreement, and instead of having a discussion about it, to which we would have been amenable and flexible, she stated she was no longer interested in caring for our children. This was the day before she was scheduled to arrive for her third (previously agreed upon) day with our youngest son. From my experience with Courtney, she does not demonstrate strong communication skills and takes a long time to reply to email and text. She also has proven to be unreliable. I would not recommend Courtney as a caregiver if you are looking for a reliable, communicative, and respectful caregiver.
