I worked in the activities department at a nursing home for a couple years, volunteered with my dog in pet therapy in nursing homes for about 3 years, and worked at an adult day care for MRDD adults for 3 years. I have also helped care for many elderly family members. The past 5 years I provided companion care for an elderly woman. During this time my care adjusted to her needs as she developed dementia. This included help with her dog and light house work.
