First of all, no matter who I have cared for in the past, I just plain love people! I love to make them feel loved, respected and important. I have pretty much worked with dementia patients but I am mainly looking to be a companion to an elderly lady. Everyone needs someone and who wants to be alone? I will listen to your stories and if you want to listen I will tell you mine. You want to play cards? I know a few games! Or you just want someone to be there just in case. You can count on me! I am very outgoing and love to laugh and sing. I am looking for either pt time or full time depending on the days and times. Thank you for checking me out and hope to hear from you soon. P.S. I worked with a dementia patient for about 2 years. We went to lunch, to the park, the grocery store and sometimes just drove around. I took her to see her sister here and there and to Doctor's appointments. I made sure she took her medicines and set and styled her hair. Basically whatever she wanted to do. I loved her stories day in and day out the same stories but I learned how to make it interesting and not boring, there was never a dull moment. I also took care of my neighbor with dementia when his wife was out of town. He mainly just stayed around the house so we would just talk and I made his meals for him. I cared for and cleaned for another woman for about 6 months and she was pretty much like the first lady, we did a lot of running around to the grocery store and doctor's appt. I made her meals made sure she took her medicines and cleaned for her.
