I have worked side by side with Home Health and Hospice clients, managing their medications, exercise programs, healthy meals, ROM for someone who has suffered a stroke. or may even be bedridden. Deborah has worked with us for over six months and she has been wonderful to have in our home. She is kind, compassionate, and professional with excellent communication skills. She takes excellent care of my wife who has aphasia brought on by Frontal Temporal Degeneration. Since my wife has lost almost all verbal acuity, Debbie has to read her and has figured out how to take care of her wants and needs. She is very skilled at this. Debbie helps with meal preparation, gardening, house cleaning, assisting my wife with dressing and personal hygiene. My wife is in very good physical health and so Debbie takes her for regular walks, takes her to the beach, to the bookstore so they can get coloring books, and takes her shopping and other errands. She keeps my wife engaged with life and interested in the world around her. My wife always smiles when Debbie arrives and it is clear that the love between them is reciprocal. I feel very blessed to have her helping take care of my wife and also taking the load off of me as a caregiver.
