About Destiny

I enjoy working with kids because it creates the opportunity to see the world through the perspective and imagination of a child. It's a wonderful opportunity to not only teach good values, but learn new ways of looking at situations. Yes, you are a caretaker and are responsible for making decisions for the children, but you can also use the opportunity to work as a team and figure out solutions in new and creative ways - it's a joy! I started working with kids when I was in high school. I worked at a daycare, some of the children having special needs and as a volunteer in church, at daycares, and just watching friends children. In my spare time, I like to walk and explore the city, go hiking and birdwatching, read, and make art :) My skills include really listening to the children; understanding that they are people and, depending on age, are capable of understanding their emotions and needs; being patient in stressful situations and deescalating said situations.
