I've worked with bedridden & semi-individuals, both with dementia & Parkinson's. I was house manager so responsible for the personal care of the individual ( bathing, feeding, meal prep) as well as making sure any household issues were attended to & repairs made. I also cared for the 97-year-old mother of one patient, mobile by use of a walker. I helped her shower, dress, & prepped meals as well as managed meds for both her & her son. When I retired as a teacher and supervisor with Ohio, I worked 5 years as a professional nanny. I cared for twins from birth until 3 years old for a couple whom were both doctors with demanding jobs. My next child I also cared for from birth until 2 years old . They were a professional couple involved in the computer world. At that point I had to leave professional caregiving to help an immediate family member suffering medical issues lasting several years.
