About Emily

I have always found myself drawn to working with young children. I spent many teenage years babysitting , volunteering in my mother's preschool classroom and later being a Nanny for numerous families. I have worked in an early childcare settings as a daycare teacher and assistant teacher with young children of various ages and developmental abilities. Most recently, I have been a Teacher assistant in both an Exceptional Children classroom as well as a General TA that has worked with all elementary grade levels. These opportunities and experiences allowed me to work with children with all different types of development, emotional, and educational abilities. It also gave me the opportunity to see the importance of communication and acceptance when engaging with the families and/or caretaker of the child. I also am a single mother of a 5-year-old child, which has helped me to know even how important it is to provide for the health, safety, and well-being of a child.
