About Emily

As a previous Mathnasium tutor, I have gained firsthand experience and skills that allow me to connect with students and help them learn through effective, easy-to-understand ways. I specialize in teaching grades K-8 in math, english, and writing, and have experience teaching ages 4-17. I believe that the most effective tutoring is accomplished when tutors are able to connect with their students on a personal level. I love to tutor not only to help students achieve their academic goals, but to help them discover new learning methods that are best suited to their individual needs. I attended the Bergen County Academies, graduating with a 4. 0 GPA and receiving the Academic Excellence Award my senior year. I am currently studying for a B. S. in Radio-Television-Film at the University of Texas at Austin. In my spare time, I like to take dance classes, watch movies, and hang out with my friends! Along with subject tutoring, I can also give some pretty awesome movie recommendations.
