About Emma

I am a special education teacher with 10 years of experience in the field. I have taught for two years in the Region 4 School District here in Connecticut, and for 6 years at a self-contained school in New York City (as well as working there as an assistant teacher my first two years). I hold New York teaching certificates in elementary education 1st-6th and special education 1st-6th, as well as Connecticut teaching certificates in elementary education K-6th and special education K-12th. I received my undergraduate degree in English and adolescent education from Vassar College, and my Master's degree in dual childhood education and childhood special education from Hunter College, where I also taught a course as an adjunct lecturer post-graduation. I have a huge passion for helping all students succeed and enjoy learning, no matter what their diagnosis or educational background.
