About Evanthe

Hello! I have 5 years of experience mentoring and educating middle and high school students in D. C. After graduating from Hampton University, I returned to the DMV to join the 2016 City Year cohort. Through my experience with City Year, I learned how to effectively support students in various attendance, behavior, and content issues and realized a passion for education. Following my passion for student success, I joined the Urban Teachers Program at Johns Hopkins University. Since graduating with a Masters of Science in Secondary Education, I have earned a dual-certification in Secondary English Language Arts and Special Education and am studying to earn a third certification in History. I have worked in middle school settings and the 2021 school year will be my fourth at a D. C. high school teaching 9th grade English Language Arts.
