I am pleased to write this recommendation for Gina M who worked as a caregiver for my elderly aunt and subsequently for my mother for five years combined. Gina is a highly skilled and compassionate caregiver. She has excellent infection control practices, she is skilled in the use of the Hoyer lift, reclining wheelchair, and knows how to transfer a patient carefully. Gina has excellent infection control practices. She is proficient in skin care for elderly and incontinent patients and knows how to avoid bed sores. Gina worked well and respectfully with a team of caregivers. She writes comprehensive notes on care at every shift making it easy for the relieving caregiver to know exactly what occurred that day and what needs to be done. Her comprehensive records were also very helpful when we needed to communicate with my mom's doctors. Gina is very careful with medication management giving proper doses on time. She is also terrific at keeping her patients’ fluids up. She is an excellent cook who is mindful of proper nutrition. Gine is experienced with swallowing problems in the elderly and is extremely careful adjusting food consistency as well as feeding techniques to keep her patient safe from choking as well as well fed. Gina is very conscientious and gives her best to her patients. She was quick to alert me, as well as the other caregivers, if she felt something had changed with my mom and care protocol needed to be adjusted. She is a truly kind and solid individual who extends her heart. Gina was patient with my mom's dementia and handled her forgetfulness and confusion gracefully, with understanding and respect. She keeps her patients very clean and well dressed so they both feel and look nice. Gina understands the importance of regular changing with an incontinent patient as well as the need for position changing. She is knowledgeable about wound care as well. Gina a very pleasant person to interact with and certainly made both my mom and aunt very comfortable and happy. She is a true professional who thoroughly understands eldercare and gives it her best. Gina identifies with her patients feelings and connects well with them. I feel so deeply fortunate that both my mom and my aunt were able to enjoy and benefit from her respectful and sincerely kind care.
