I am a local primary care physician, my husband is a local private school high school math teacher. We rely on Jan as our caregiver for our 3 and 7 year old daughters when there are scheduled days off that we can't be home for, or last minute sick days. We met 4 years ago when our girls became friends on the playground and at Sunday school. Jan and I soon became best of friends, and we have spent the majority of our Fridays, and often weekends together since then. I trust her implicitly with the care of my children. I especially value her availability and willingness to bail us out in difficult situations- one day, my preschooler vomited on our way out the door to preschool, and it would have been very difficult on my patients and colleagues to call out sick at the last moment. Jan came through, and was at my door in 10 minutes. I made it on time to work, and my little one had excellent care. Jan has become surrogate momma to my 2 girls, and we call her momma Jan. For this I have recommended her to my colleagues at work, who are also mostly 2 full time professional parents with little ones- and stakes are high to call out from work at the last minute. It gives my husband and I enormous peace of mind to have reliable, trustworthy, dedicated, attentive, loving, and skilled care.
