In the past I have substituted as a para professional (classroom aide) at a school for hearing impaired 3 to 5-year-olds. The school integrated hearing and hearing-impaired children. I have also held jobs at after school programs with inner city elementary and middle school children. Currently, I am working as a Special Education teacher. Personally, I am the oldest in my family. My sister is 11 years younger than me and is hearing impaired and autistic. I have co-parented her her whole life. I have babysat for younger siblings, cousins and family friends, of various ages (infancy and up), my entire life.
