About Julie

Experience: 10 yrs

My most recent experience was with a lovely Pemberton Heights family with 3 precious children that are very dear to my heart. I also fell for their 2 sweet dogs. I was their nanny for 8 years. I was hired before the oldest boy was born, I was there for the sister and youngest brother's birth as well! I am a hands-on teacher and playmate. I am engaged, creative, active, imaginative and educational play! I love to share my passions for creative open ended art projects, reading (all ages), parks and adventures, nature lessons (I am bug and creature friendly), cooking and healthy eating club and "on the floor" play and conversations. I believe in listening to and observing the individual child to discover their talents and passions. I am "old fashion" in my expectations for manners and kindness to others. I do believe most activities are best served with a healthy dose of silliness and laughter! I am vigilant regarding the safety of all children. Since becoming a mother (15+ years ago), I know that the greatest gift I can pay forward to other parents is the confidence that their child will be (and will feel) safe and loved. Prior to working as a nanny, I served as lead infant and lead Pre-K teacher at a preschool. They have wonderful continuing education for classroom curriculum and CPR/First Aid training programs through their master schools. I made many contacts with families that would later request that I babysit (weekday nights, weekends or even overnights when they traveled). I have a BA in Psychology and Education. I worked for many years in Sales (art galleries, interior design and independent rep). After the birth of my son (certainly the most effective training and my best accomplishment), I decided to redirect my career back to my degree and focus on Early Childhood Education, a path that I began at age 11 (for the next door neighbor), followed by a regular gig with a toddler and his infant sister at the age of 13 and 14! Decades have past, but my love for children and my understanding of the importance of Early Education have continued to grow! I look forward to meeting your precious child (or children) and to hearing your stories and ideas!

I'm more than happy to write this letter of recommendation for Julie. Julie came into our lives in 2004, the year my first son was born. We immediately fell in love with her and her son. And, they immediately fell in love with my first son. She's bubbly, fun, and ALL kids adore her. Between the years of 2004 and 2012, we added two additional children to our family, as well as several dogs. Julie embraced every additional child and canine, and loved, taught and nurtured them all. With two working parents, it was critical that we felt completely comfortable and secure with our childcare situation. Julie provided us with that comfort and security for many years. She not only cared for the daily needs of the kids, teaching them colors, shapes, and letters, but she extended that care by running car pool and taking children to the doctor when work conflicts prevented me from doing so. She was truly an extension of me. It was a relief to know that she could handle whatever was needed on any particular day. Above all else, I always knew that Julie had my children's well-being as her top priority. Over 8 years, Julie and her son became an extension of our family. We shared life events, both sad and happy, and watched the kids grow. Years later, my children are bigger, they are all in school, and I have made a career transition. We no longer need that full time child-care. So, I'm thrilled to help Julie find her next family. They will always be an important extension of our family, and we love them dearly. We could not recommend Julie any more highly.
