About Kaila

I'm an Anthropologist who has worked with high school and college students for two decades, with a unique ability to understand students and help them take control of their academic lives. As an Academic Coach I work with current high school, college, and graduate students on everything from a particular assignment (in any course) to executive function skills (such as time management and organization): I specialize in teaching analytic reading and writing skills; essay and thesis development; research and academic writing. As an Application Coach I help current high school and college students understand the range of colleges and graduate schools that exist, find the programs that are the best fit for them, and help them construct applications that will get noticed. I love this work, and I do it with a sense of humor. Having run a comedy school in New York City and produced comedy specials for television, I enjoy connecting with students through laughter and making learning fun.
