I started babysitting at 13 for the neighborhood children. I had three or four families that I sat for on a regular basis, and I loved the children as much as they loved me. Unfortunately, as children do, they grew too old to be needing a sitter, though I still see them occasionally. While I am most comfortable with four or less children, I have babysat for up to six at a time. I have experience watching infants as young as six weeks of age, and teenagers as old as 15, as well as varying mixes of ages. I have experience with special needs children, including children with autism. I was also a vacation nanny for a set of triplets that all have speech-delays, and one boy has a neuro-muscular disorder that mimics mild cerebral palsy. When I'm not at work, I love to read and write, and I enjoy studying renaissance history in my spare time as well as learning historical ballroom dances, and sewing.
