About Karen

I'm a married, full time Mom to twin 8-year-olds and looking forward to reviving my career in Senior Companionship on a part-time basis. My background is in client services for ad agencies, but my true passion is helping families and seniors in need. I was a Visiting Volunteer for 4 years for a nonprofit in Chicago with a mission of helping the elderly. I also worked for 3 families who entrusted me with caring for their elderly parents, most of whom had early dementia. I visited them on a routine basis, maintained groceries and cooked healthy meals. I also took care of filling/checking pill packs and handled transportation needs for doctor or vet appointments, and even exercise, meditation and art classes. I provide thorough communication with family members to give them peace of mind and continuous contact with their loved one. I really enjoy conversations with seniors and helping them keep a happy home so they maintain a sense of independence (and humor!) about their golden years.
