Hello! My name is Kate and I am currently getting my masters in art therapy. I was formerly a preschool teacher, art teacher, camp counselor, full-time nanny for 10 years. I love being creative, being outside, and making people laugh. With children, I like to teach imaginative play skills and how to fully express themselves. I am also trained in bed/time routine methods, potty training, and feeding programs. Some other things I also like to do is teaching children about gardening, the solar system, sea life, etc. My passion is working in this field and I after my graduate degree I hope to become an art therapist for children. I was a teacher for adults and children on the spectrum teaching them daily life skills. I have training in feeding programs, bathroom programs, community programs, as well as assisting with fine motor and gross motor disabilities. With my training, I am also experienced with AAC devices or other methods when working with people who are non-verbal.

Kate has without doubt become the best babysitter we have ever had. We are discerning, hands-on parents that prioritize our kids above all else, so we hold our babysitters to a high standard. Kate somehow manages to not only meet but exceed every wish we have in a babysitter. She has a heart of gold, an astute skill set, and an incredible ability to connect with kids. My children adore her and prefer to play with her over anyone else, and they are normally two tough customers to please. Both kids have autism (which makes it more challenging to engage / understand them), and also are opposite personalities; but she knows how to bring out the very best in each one. Kate is intuitively able to identify each child's passions, and help them learn / grow through play. She can also softly discipline the children when needed, in a manner where they actually listen and respect her. The ABA background that she brings to the table is an immense asset for any family. She has become a sister to me and in many ways a best friend to each of my children.
