About Katherine

I'd describe my personality as nurturing, patient, and exploratory. I love to foster curiosity. I like working with kids because they are filled with wonder and curiosity about the world and how things work. I'm looking for a job that taps into my strong background in education and love of the outdoors and animals. I started working with kids when I was in my teens- first a a babysitter, then au pair, then as a nanny. I then studied special education and became a teacher. In my spare time, I like to read, garden, hang out with my horse, bike, swim, and see live music. One thing you should know about me is that I have spent years honing mindful behavior management skills to help kids work through and solve problems. My skills include creating hands-on learning experiences, cooking with kids, and maintaining a safe and fun environment.
