About Katherine

I am patient, compassionate and fun to be with. I have over five years of experience helping and caring for my parents, in-laws, and husband. I worked as a patient sitter at a hospital in Wisconsin. I love listening to stories about the old days over and over again, it doesn't bother me a bit. In fact, I encourage it. If I ask an elderly man about his first car, he'll talk about it for hours. And I will listen for hours. I found most seniors were confused, because maybe they had a UTI or dementia. I would make it a point to calm them down by redirecting them, asking questions about their life, their loves, their grandkids, kids, spouse. One time I sat for a woman who was known to be mean. After spending an hour with her, we were walking down the hallways of the hospital singing old songs. The nurses were amazed. I'm not saying that you're loved one is mean, but it's good to know that I have the ability to handle all types of personalities.
