About Katherine

Hello! I am an experienced tutor with an academic background in writing, English, literature, history, languages, philosophy, and religion. I have an MTS in theology from Boston College (2014) and a bachelor of arts in philosophy from Bryn Mawr College, PA (2011). As an undergraduate, I served as a discussion leader/TA for political theory course through the Political Science department at Bryn Mawr College. Based on my prior experience with philosophy, I also offered informal writing and reading support to classmates constructing philosophy papers. One classmate commented that I empowered her to think for herself with greater clarity of thought. I have a strong standardized tests background: My GRE verbal score was in the 96th percentile. As a high schooler (graduated 2007), I obtained scores above the 90th percentile in verbal, writing, and several subject tests. I scored in the 90th percentile on the AP. I excel at motivation, test prep skills, and reading and writing support. I am excited to partner with your student to increase both academic performance and most significantly, a genuine enjoyment of their course of study.
