I have been a mature (but fun), responsible and energetic aid to seniors in their homes for the last eight years. I started my career in Tech Project Management but changed to something much more rewarding. Taking care of a family member led me to my second career in Aid/Companionship. My husband and I live in Yarmouth Port. The majority of my years in home care have been working with Alzheimer's patients. I typically bond very easily with patients, as well as the care-taking family members. I would love to find more work helping seniors stay in their homes for as long as possible: Driving, Shopping, Companionship, Respite For Family Members, Shower and Transferring Assist, Med Reminders, Vendor Management, Light Tech Support, Meal Prep, & Light Housekeeping. Due to allergies, I can only work in a non-smoking household.

Kathy took excellent care of my 94 yr old mother. She was patient, gentle but firm, and could derail my stubborn mom's risky behaviors without condescending to her or taking away her sense of autonomy. When my mom was feeling good, Kathy kept her active and engaged and mom loved her company. When mom was feeling ill, Kathy was a competent yet tender hands on caretaker, handling meds, BP, bathing, dressing, etc. She has sound judgement and I never hestitated to leave mom alone with her, knowing she would handle whatever situation arose. If we were not leaving the Cape in the fall, I would continue to have her working for us.
