About Katie

Hello! I currently work as a special education teacher in WCCUSD. I am in graduate school to get my masters as an Educational Specialist. I love my career. I believe that every student can succeed when given the proper resources and tools to do so. My work as a special education teacher requires me to know the CCSS taught at each grade level. I have worked with kindergarten-8th grade, teaching everything from reading to writing to math. I like tutoring because some students need a different way to learn than the standard teaching in public schools. I come up with creative, fun, and useful ways to help my students strengthen their academic knowledge. My skills include using a top-tier intervention to teach reading and spelling, knowing multiple different ways to teach math, and having knowledge of the education system allows me to understand what your student is working on in class at that time so I can hyperfocus tutoring lessons to be specifically for their grade level.
