About Katie

I have 10 years of babysitting experience, including newborns (4 months and onward) and up to 5 children at a time by myself. I am a former summer camp counselor for ages 5 - 7 and 9 - 11. This required around the clock supervision and care for 5 days straight for each group of campers. My training included First Response Safety Training (CPR and first aid) as well as training on spotting cases of abuse. In 2011, I started an after school program for at-risk girls in the community of Bryan, TX, ages 5 - 14. This was part of a larger organization I co-founded, a student organization at Texas A&M that aims to help aid the fight against modern-day slavery and human trafficking (I know, kind of intense). The after school program for the girls in the community provided mentorship, a short bible study, "girls night" hangouts, and school tutoring. Currently, I work as a community manager for a fair trade jewelry company here in Austin. I'm happy to provide references upon request! :)
