About Laura

I am a retired nurse looking for a new career direction. I love children and child care seemed like a good idea for me. My own 4 children are grown and I have 5 grandchildren ages 1 to 10. I come from a large family with 4 siblings and a total of 18 grandchildren. Children have always been a large part of my life. I am an active 60 yr old who loves to go on field trips and actively play with the children I am with. I happen to love to sort and organize so I and a laundry basket can also have a lot of fun. Light housework lists work well for me if there is downtime between kid activities. I like to be busy. Because I have a nursing degree you have the added safety of knowing I am capable of handling some medical emergencies with confidence. I am also familiar with food allergies and intolerances. One of my daughters has Celiac's disease and I understand completely the need for food safety and potential concerns for cross contamination.
