About Laurel

I tutor students in middle school through college/graduate school in all aspects of English, writing, and psychology. I have an advanced tutoring certification from the National Tutoring Association and am currently employed as an online tutor by the California Pacific Charter Schools. Privately, I also tutor online students, many of whom I have assisted in writing successful college essays and graduate-level research papers. Writing mechanics is my main focus, including grammar, punctuation, spelling, vocabulary, sentence structure, paragraph development, and essay organization. I have taught Writing 101, creative writing, advanced writing, research writing, poetry analysis, and reading comprehension. I also teach MLA and APA formats. A former college professor, I've had my work published and have written for a couple of non-profit organizations' publications. My primary objective is to help students communicate clearly through their writing and speech.
