About Lyndsay

I'm 24 years old, and I currently live in Washington, DC. I'm hoping to find a nice family in the DC area that I can live with when my lease expires in January 2011 in exchange for babysitting in the evenings and on the weekends. I graduated from James Madison University in 2008 and I currently work as a pharmaceutical sales rep in the DC area, so my schedule is pretty busy during the day. I am a responsible and dependable young woman with strong christian values. Since I grew up in a close Christian family and I'm the oldest of four, I have naturally grown up as a "mother's helper" and a role model to my brother and sisters. I've had experience caring for children of all ages from infants to preteens, and have repeatedly been told that I have a natural ability to bond with children. I think it's important to create a balance between being a friend and role model to kids, yet also being the "adult," earning respect, and establishing a learning environment in a fun way. One of my favorite memories was making "green eggs and ham" (literally) with 2 little girls I babysat for when I was in high school. When they came to my high school graduation, one of the little girls wrote me a letter and said she would never forget all the baking, reading, dress up, and games we played when she was younger and that I would always have a special place in her heart. I still keep in touch with a lot of the families whose children I have watched over the years, so I would be more than happy to provide you with multiple references. I want to be able to become a part of the family and build trust with the kids and the parents. Spending time with children brightens my day. I just love their positive outlook on life, and the fact that I can be a role model for them! Look forward to hearing from you!!
