Helped patients manage their daily activities, transport patients to doctor's appointments, schedule appointments, monitor medications, change colostomy bags and handle household responsibilities including meals, payment of bills. The last patient I cared for had advanced stage Alzheimer's. She lived at her daughter's home and she was in my complete care other than Sundays. I woke her, dressed her, stayed with her the entire day and put her to bed. Even though she had dementia she was able to do crossword puzzles with my assistance. I read the newspaper to her every day, novels and we also played cards. She was religious so we would say prayers at night while I held her hand. We had spa days where I would do her nails and braid her hair and give her massages. Every day I dressed her so she looked pretty. I wanted to give her the respect she deserved. We had a wonderful relationship. She even preferred me over others. She passed in peace and with dignity.
