I like to tailor the lesson plan to align with the student's goals. If it's studying for a test, we'll study to get the best score, if it's a project, we'll try to get the best grade, if it's simply to learn and understand the subject, we'll focus on fundamentals, theory, and real world examples. I like tutoring because it's a great way to tailor learning to specific students. Not all students learn best at school in lecture, myself included. I find one-on-one interactive sessions with open dialogue enables exponential learning beyond what a lecture can provide. I like tutoring because it gives me an opportunity to help students achieve their greatest potential. I started tutoring a few years after completing my undergraduate degree. I genuinely enjoy teaching and the material was still fresh for me to share my knowledge. In my spare time, I like to go on hikes with my dog, play piano, exercise, and spend as much time outdoors as the Portland weather permits.
