About Maria

I've worked at a karate school teaching kids from the age of 3-12+. When teaching the younger kids at karate I focus more on their safety and attention than on karate skills. Teaching the older kids focuses on their memory skills and accomplishments. I get great gratification working with all ages. I also babysit my 11-year-old cousin and a 7-year-old child. The 7-year-old is a special needs kid. Working with him requires multitasking abilities such as making sure he is safe as well as him being entertained and enjoying himself. He also requires a lot of one on one work to help him grow which makes me feel accomplished. I babysit my cousin too, she has slight ADD and needs constant attention and activity. She is a very smart girl for her age which means I have to find activities that best suit her intelligence level as well as her age.
