About Marie

I have over 12 years of experience working with youth of differing ages and abilities. My passion for child development led me to earn a BA in Child Development from SFSU and certificate in American Sign Language. I am currently a graduate student at UW studying museums. My philosophy of child development and learning are along the lines of unschooled, whole-child development, learner-lead education; basically the idea that children naturally have the drive, passion and curiosity to learn the skills to be a happy and active adults! I love being active; biking, swimming, skateboarding, playing music (piano, guitar, drums), crafting(watercolor, pastel, sewing, embroidery), tinkering, doing experiments, meet new people, ask lots of questions! It's my hope to find a family that has similar beliefs about learning and development for their child. I would love to be a supportive, caring, understanding, fun, stimulating caretaker for your child!
