Marlene looked after my father (an Alzheimer's patient) from the time he was a walking, talking, laughing man... right up until he could no longer move, swallow, blink, or ultimately breathe. He maintained dignity throughout the process specifically because she viewed him as her own family member. We still view her as one of ours specifically for that reason.
