About Marlen

I have 10 years of experience working with children of all ages. I've worked as an academic tutor, an elementary school teacher, and a social-emotional learning skills educator working with kiddos from 1st to 12th grade. I recently earned a master's degree in clinical mental health and spent the last year of grad school working as a student counselor. I am currently caring for a wonderful 1-year-old. I enjoy working with small humans because I appreciate experiencing moments alongside them. Whether it's watching a baby laugh at their own farts or sneezes or learning how to ask for help or self-soothe, it's refreshing to watch them experience the world around them. As a caretaker, I prefer to take an approach that borrows tenets from a Montessori perspective while still maintaining the structure parents prefer. With all my skills and experience, I'm able to provide a supervised, safe, and stable environment for your little ones.
