About Mary

I'm a teacher/school admin with 20 years' experience caring for children in various settings. I am CPR/first aid certified. I enjoy working with kids of all ages & am happy to take on pet care & light housekeeping responsibilities. I don't have kids but I have three nephews ages 21 mo-3 yrs who I love spending time with, & a dog & cat at home. I'd describe my personality as warm, attentive, & open. I like working with kids because it's a joy to watch them learn & experience life. I'm looking for a job that is flexible. I started working with kids when I was 14 & babysat for families in my neighborhood. In my spare time, I like to read, cook, & do crafts. One thing you should know about me is I am a "no-nonsense nurturer." I believe kids thrive when clear & fair expectations are in place & are consistently upheld, & they trust that the adults in their lives love them & have their best interests at heart. My skills include tutoring, encouraging play, & being calm, kind, &firm.
