About Maureen

When I was in twenties, my dad fell ill to heart problems. I became one of his primary caregivers along with my mom. I lost my dad when I was only 28, and learned how important caring, loving, and supportive people mean to a family with a sick or elderly parent. My difficult experiences at an early stage in my life led me to be more mindful of families in need. I spent about 5 years caring for an elderly woman down my block; buying her groceries, cooking meals, sitting with her throughout the day, taking her to doctors appointments, and creating a special bond. Within the last two years I took care of my older brother who had lung cancer; I was responsible for all his health care. In addition, I took care of my mother since the day she moved in with my family and I. I prepared her meals, controlled her medicine, helped in the bathroom, and bathed her. Overall, I learned that keeping my mom feeling like herself was the best care I could give. I would love to do the same for your family.
