About Maya

I am an experienced childcare professional with 8 years of experience as a camp counselor, babysitter, outdoor education teacher, and behavior therapist. I love working with kids because I love how much creativity they bring to everything, and I find it so exciting to see the way they experience the world! I am passionate about the outdoors and the environment, and have a wide range of skills I can teach in that area. I also love to do arts and crafts, and enjoy coming up with creative ideas and projects. I am also passionate about music and theatre, and often incorporate that into my work with kids. I recently started working as a behavior therapist for young kids with autism, and I also have experience in trauma informed care. I have worked with kids who speak a variety of languages, and have worked around the language barrier even though I only speak English. I have a bachelors degree in psychology, and am certified in CPR, first aid, and lifeguarding.
