About Melissa

Hello! My name is Missy. I am 52 years of age, with two grown children. I was born in Bath, Maine and currently live here as well. I started getting in to caregiving by taking care of my grandmother at 81 years of age, who had dementia, and had had a stroke. She required complete care with bathing, eating, and all daily living requirements. My mother had been diagnosed with cancer during this time, so when my grandmother died, I took over the care of my mother for a year until she passed away as well. Not long after, I started taking care of my grandfather full time, who also ended up having dementia. I have wound care experience, medication management, mobility experience, respite care, dementia experience, feeding concerns, but mostly just a big heart.
